Five Things to Know Today: June 24, 2011

Happy Friday, Manalapan!

1.)   Another chance of thunderstorms.  According to the National Weather Service, there is another chance of severe weather, mainly after 10 a.m. Today will remain cloudy with a high near 82. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. Tonight, there is s chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly before 5 a.m. Small hail, wind gusts, heavy rain and lightning are possible. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

2.)  Plan to "Get Out" this weekend.  Check out the Local Editor of Freehold Patch Jacklyn Corley’s , for a list of all the nifty things going on in and around Monmouth County this weekend.

They include SkimBash 2011, an eco-elephant family flea market in Dorbrook Park in Holmdel, an outdoor movie showing in Middletown which will benefit Relay for Life. Battle of Monmouth Tours, and a tour of an historic residence in Freehold.

3.)  A reminder of .

“Manalapan Township Municipal Building Summer Hours are 8 a.m.-5:15 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. The offices are closed Fridays. Summer hours are in effect through Sept. 2.

The Police Department & Public Works Department will remain open Mondays through Fridays.

The Senior Center will be open 8 a.m.-5:15 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays. Closed Mondays.

Recreation Department Summer Hours:

June 6 - June 24,  8 a.m. -5:15 pm (Monday-Thursday)

June 27 - Aug. 12,  8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (Monday-Friday)”

4.) Meeting. Senior Citizen Executive Board. The Board will meet June 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 13.
