Halloween Curfew for Manalapan Township

The restricted hours for minors permitted in public begins the night of Oct. 28.

The Manalapan Township Committee passed a resolution that institutes a curfew for people under the age of 18 during Halloween weekend at their last meeting on Oct. 12.

The resolution says that no one under 18 years-old is allowed in any public place, on public streets, or on any public property within Manalapan Township between the preceding hours and on the preceding dates:

  • 9 p.m. on Oct. 28 to 6 a.m. on Oct. 29
  • 9 p.m. on Oct. 29 to 6 a.m. on Oct. 30
  • 9 p.m. on Oct. 30 to 6 a.m. on Oct. 31
  • 9 p.m. on Oct. 31 to 6 a.m. on Nov. 1

The resolution specifies certain exceptions including: returning home from work, night school, fraternity, church, or school meetings; on the way or returning from a doctor's or dentist appointment where treatment has, or will be, performed; or if the minor is accompanied by his or her guardian over the age of 18.

During the restricted hours, no one OVER the age of 18 is allowed to wear a mask that covers any part of his or her face in any public place within Manalapan Township.
