Manalapan-Englishtown Memorial Day Weekend Guide

Not sure what to do this Memorial Day weekend? Take a look at some of the fun things going on around Manalapan and Englishtown:

The Englishtown-Manalapan Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, May 27 at 2 p.m. The parade begins at the Manalapan Post Office on 9 Taylors Mills Road and comes down Route 522 into Main Street in Englishtown. There will be a special ceremony at the Manalapan Memorial beginning at 2 p.m. (in front of the post office), a ceremony at Veterans Monument in front of the Englishtown Municipal Building, and a ceremony at John F. Kennedy Memorial at 21 Wilson Avenue, where the parade concludes.

The parade will consist of the Memorial Day Honor Guard, the American Legion Post 434 Color Guard, Grand Marshall Lynn Strong, government representatives, marching bands, the Knights of Columbus, Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops, local fire and police department vehicles, the first aid squad, and custom cars.

Hartigan’s Grille in Englishtown is offering a complimentary breakfast and lunch on Memorial Day for all current and former military members beginning at 8 a.m. A valid military ID or DD214 is required.

The Manalapan Soccer Club's 27th Annual Memorial Day Tournament kicks off on Friday, May 24 and continues through Monday, May 27 at the Manalapan Recreation Center. Stop by and cheer on your local players! For more information on the game schedules, click here.

If you were thinking of checking out a good book for the weekend, you better head on over to the library either Friday or Saturday because the Monmouth County Library will be closed on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.
