SLIDESHOW: Giving Thanks at the Manalapan Mayor's Charity Ball

Six prominent individuals of Manalapan Township were recognized by the Charity Ball Committee.

The “who’s who” of Manalapan Township came to the fifth annual Manalapan Mayor’s Charity Ball at on Saturday, Nov. 19 to give back, get down, and give thanks.

The theme of this year’s ball was “A Time for Thanks”, and the Charity Ball committee selected six prominent individuals within the township to formally thank and recognize with an award.

Awards were distributed to:

  • Kim Silverstein, R.N. - the coordinator of MRC-CERT
  • Peter Becker - the Manalapan Baseball and Softball Association President
  • Glenn Essner - the Youth Football Association President
  • Michael Hammer - the Manalapan Soccer Club President
  • Michael Bain and Brian Glazer - Co-owners of Party Perfect Rentals

All proceeds from the charity ball are going to the Samaritan Center, the local food bank that is currently serving 475 families, and “Americans Helping Americans”, the 101st Airborne Division which has been adopted by Manalapan Township.

The cost per ticket to attend the ball was $125, and donations were also accepted at the event. There was also a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle.

The Manalapan Mayor’s Charity Ball was co-chaired by Diana Peraza Cochran and Susan Cohen and the Manalapan Mayor’s Charity Ball Foundation was chaired by Glen Mendez and aided by Jack Aaronson and David Salzano.
