Roundup of Recent Burglaries and Thefts

have reported a roundup of recent thefts and and burglaries from Manalapan residences and car.

• Two rings valued at $22,000 were stolen from a Manalapan residence sometime between 8 a.m. on June 5 and 8:30 a.m. on June 6. The theft report was filed on June 9 by the 27-year-old woman and 29-year-old man who owned the rings. This matter is still being investigated by police.
• A 57-year-old Manalapan man from Crown Ct. told police that $2,838.73 worth of items were stolen from his unlocked car while it was parked in his driveway overnight. A laptop, iPod, calculator, CD's, MontBlonc pen, and $1,000 in cash were stolen, police said.
• On June 7, police responded to a Daum Rd. residence for a burglary report. The rear door window was smashed, which police discovered is how the burglar gained entry to the home. The residence was ransacked and jewelry and cash were stolen. Det. Leonard Maltese and Ptl. Jeff Emslie are handling the investigation.
• A Whiting resident told police that a burglary had occured at his Manalapan home, which is currently for sale. The man periodically checks on the house and when he checked on the home on June 4 he found his backyard in disarray. Equipment was stolen from his shed and the motor to his inground pool was cut out. The approximate value of the stolen items was $2,490.
