Severe Thunderstorms Predicted Through Tuesday Evening

The storms could produce heavy rain, localized flooding, hail and lightning.

The National Weather Service has issued a weather advisory for thunderstorms throughout Tuesday evening. The forecast is calling for a cold front to cut into today's high temperatures, which could produce several severe thunderstorms in the area.

The storms are predicted to yield heavy rain and gusty winds, so please be advised of potential flooding in flood-prone areas in Englishtown in Manalapan. New rainfall amounts are expected to be between a quarter and a half of an inch, according to the NWS. 

The storm may also produce "damaging lightning strikes" and large hail. The storms are expected to develop around 7 p.m., according to the NWS, and end around 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.
