Week Ahead: Library Week Events, Government Meetings

The Monmouth County Library is having a number of great events this week.

Manalapan Government Meetings

  • The Recreation Advisory Board is meeting at the Recreation Main Office at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15.
  • The Fire Prevention Committee is meeting in room 107 of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 15.
  • The Senior Citizen Advisory is meeting in room 213 of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17.
  • The Environmental Commission is meeting in room 213 of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17.
  • The Manalapan Township Zoning Board is meeting in the courtroom of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 18.


Monmouth County Library Events

  • Bankruptcy Seminar - Wednesday, April 17 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Presenter Jay B. Feldman, a lawyer who concentrates on bankruptcy law, foreclosures, and commercial litigation, will be discussing the many aspects of bankruptcy. This lecture will concentrate on how to firewall your business from a customer's bankruptcy. 
  • Home Staging for Maximum Value - Thursday, April 18 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Interior Designer Gail Meyer of Staged Homes New Jersey and Deb Dolinsky of Remax Realty will be presenting about who to properly stage a home for sale. Meyer and Dolinsky are both Accredited Staging Professionals.
  • Lincoln vs. McClellan - Thursday, April 18 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Robert Costello as President Lincoln and Ken Hall as General McClellan will be holding a mock debate. They will address issues of importance for the electorate that year including the validity of the Civil War, slavery, the preservation of the Union and the Emancipation Proclamation. Hall and Costello are skilled living historians that will bring their knowledge of the period to life. A question and answer session will follow the debate.
