Week Ahead: Manalapan Budget Up for Adoption

Government

The Manalapan Township Committee is meeting on Tuesday, May 14 at 8 p.m. in the courtroom of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building. The overview of the  2013 municipal budget and the public hearing on it will take place  at this meeting. The resolution for adoption is also on the agenda.

The meeting was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but was switched to Tuesday because not all Committee members could meet on May 15. For the full agenda, click here.

The Manalapan Zoning Board is meeting on Thursday, May 16  at 8 p.m. in the courtroom of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building. For the full agenda, click here.

The Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education is meeting on Monday, May 13 at Freehold Township High School at 8 p.m. The Board will be approving organization meeting action items and Superintendent Charles Sampson will be discussing Special Education Week.

Monmouth County Libray

The Asperger Syndrome Parents Education Network (ASPEN)  is hosting a class at the Monmouth County Library on Wednesday, May 15 about ways people with special needs can access quality and affordable housing. The class will explore the various programs and funding sources to access and overview the services that are readily available. The class will be presented by Krystal Odell the CEO of Penn Reach. Odell is well versed in NJ’s disability system and an expert in the field of supportive housing. The seminar begins at 7 p.m.

Celebrate Children’s Book Week at the Monmouth County Library on Thursday, May 16 as author Debu Majumadar reads from his new book, “ Viku to the Resuce: A Story from the Forests of India”. This book continues the adventure of Viku which began in Majumadar’s “Viku and the Elephant”. This is for children in Kindergarten and up; the reading begins at 4:15 p.m.
