Code Department Employee Named 2012 Electrical Inspector of the Year

Manalapan resident, and electrical inspector for Manalapan Township’s Construction Code Department, Edward R. Reed, Jr. was named 2012 Electrical Inspector of the Year. 

Manalapan Mayor Susan Cohen read a proclamation at the Township Committee meeting Wednesday night recognizing his achievement and lauding Reed’s efforts and commitment to the township.

Reed has been employed as a full-time electrical inspector for the Construction Code Department of Manalapan Township for over eight years. After only six months working with the department, Reed was promoted to electrical sub-code official.

The Municipal Electrical Inspector’s Association has selected Reed as the 2012 Electrical Inspector of the Year due to his outstanding contributions in the area of code enforcement and electrical inspection, according to the Mayor’s proclamation.

“Reed has been a loyal employee of Manalapan Township and his selection for this honor has brought much pride to Manalapan,” Cohen said.

Reed was honored by his association and by the Department of Community Affairs at an awards luncheon during the Building Safety Conference of New Jersey on May 10 in Atlantic City.
