The Monmouth County Library is proud to be once again a part of Monmouth County’s 2014 Food Drive throughout the month of April to benefit the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. In 2013, the FoodBank distributed 8.5 million pounds of food items to approximately 260 emergency feeding programs within Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Those feeding programs reach more than 127,000 individuals in Monmouth and Ocean counties – including 51,000 children, and 14,000 under the age of 5, according to FoodBank statistics. In 2012, 49 million Americans lived in food insecure households (comprised of 33.1 million adults and 15.9 million children), according to federal statistics.

Food items can be dropped off at designated areas in each branch. Drawing rules and entry forms will be available at each branch.
