Englishtown Obituary: Mother Lila Stevenson, 89

Mother Lila Stevenson, 89, was born on February 25, 1924 in Wilmington, NC to the late Carrie Conyers Kelly and Lincoln Kelly. The family moved to Norfolk, VA where Lila attended school. She and her husband, Willie moved to Cranbury, New Jersey and later to Englishtown, New Jersey. She was a faithful member at Community Refuge Church in Englishtown, NJ.

Lila was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Willie, 3 brothers (Arthur, Garfield, and Izel), 1 sister (Emily), 3 children (Matt, Pokey, and Claudia), a grandson(Mark) and a great-granddaughter(Kisha). She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Bertha Robinson, Lillian Banks, Rosemary Hogan, Rita Rubin (Fred) and Debra Napier, 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, her Godson, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family members.

Calling hours will be 7pm-9pm Mon. Dec. 30, 2013 at Community Refuge Church of Christ 4 Sobecko Rd. Englishtown, NJ. Funeral service will be 11am Tues. Dec. 31, 2013 at Bethel A.M.E. Church 3 Waterworks, Rd. Freehold, NJ. Calling hour will be 10am until time of service at the church. Interment Maplewood Cemetery Freehold, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
