Former Jewish Press Production Manager, Avid Camper Dies at 74

Manalapan resident Gerald DeWorth died Saturday.

Gerald William DeWorth, 74, of Manalapan, died Saturday, Sept. 28 at home. Born in Irvington to Gerald and Dorothy DeWorth, Gerald resided in Manalapan for the past 8 years. He worked for many years for the Home News Tribune and Star Ledger Newspapers and lastly for the Jewish Press as production manager. Jerry split his time living here and in Vero Beach, FL. He was a certified diver, enjoyed photography and loved camping, especially to Lake George every year with his family. He also had a motorhome and loved traveling all over, including the Keys. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. 

Jerry leaves behind to carry on his legacy, his beloved wife of 30 years, Olga DeWorth; sons Gerald DeWorth and wife Jacqueline and Eric DeWorth and wife Nicole; daughters Darci Minnella and husband Vincent, Wendi Lasko and husband David, Lori Rawlins, and Krysten Brown and husband Michael; sister Janice Milano and husband Frank as well as 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Old Bridge Funeral Home, 2350 CR 516, Old Bridge NJ 08857. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria VA 22312, Visiting Nurses Association of Central NJ, 176 Riverside Ave, Red Bank NJ 07701 or to Haven of Hope, PO Box 15, Ambridge PA 15003.
