Karen Becker, 67, of Monroe Township, N.J. died on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived in Manalapan, N.J. before moving to Monroe Township, N.J.
Becker and her family were also annual part-time residents of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Becker was an elementary school teacher for the Manalapan-Englishtown Board of Education for many years. Surviving are her husband Irv Becker, a son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Amy Becker of Livingston, N.J., a son Darrin Becker of Atlanta, GA., her daughter Robyn Becker of North Brunswick, N.J., her two sisters Phyllis Finkelstein of Long Island, N.Y. and Roberta Lutton of Pennsylvania and her three grandchildren Peri, Sydney and Reed.
Services will be held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Ave., Manalapan, N.J. on Wednesday October 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery in Deans, N.J.
