Manalapan Obituary: Frank Falcone, 87

Falcone has lived in Manalapan since 2005.

Mr. Frank Falcone died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at home. He was 87 years old. Born in Brindisi, Italy, he lived in Brooklyn for 43 years, then Staten Island before moving to Covered Bridge in Manalapan in 2005.

He had graduated from university in Italy and was pursuing ordination to the priesthood, when he came to the US and met and married Gussie Montalbano, with whom he shared over 55 wonderful years of marriage. He then became involved in the restaurant and food service business, and served as maître d at Venizia Restaurant in Brooklyn for 35 years, retiring in 1998. In his retirement he enjoyed history, religion, languages and his family, especially his three grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Gussie Montalbano; a son, Angelo and his wife, Mindy of Manalapan; four sisters in Italy, Rosetta, Ida, Edidela "Edith" and Savannah, and three grandchildren, Michael, Marissa and Rachel Falcone.

Funeral services will begin 9:00am Monday from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. Gabriel's Historic Church, Rt. 520 Marlboro at 10:00am. Entombment will follow in the parish mausoleum. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 and 7-9pm.
