MariaLouise (Marie) Lentini, 70 of Matawan, passed away on Sunday March 30, 2014 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.

She had worked for Manalapan Township in the Building Department issuing permits for over 25 years before her retirement.

She was born in Staten Island and spent 17 years in Manalapan before moving to Matawan in 1997.

Marie absolutely loved life. Whether it was traveling, cruising or a simple trip to Atlantic City, she loved every minute of it. She was devoted to her family and her 6 grandchildren were her pride and joy.

If you knew Marie, you knew she cooked, and she cooked a lot. She took pride in feeding relatives and friends and if you weren't feeling well, you could expect Marie standing at your door with a bowl of soup. She truly cared about people and her life, legacy and memory will live on with those who knew her.

She leaves behind her husband of 50 years Michael Lentini, 3 daughters and sons-in-law Michele and Mark Mancino, Christina and Tom Mirro, and Jacquelyn and Dennis Ray, 2 brothers Frank and Steven Signorile, a sister Ruthanne Bardes, and her 6 grandchildren, Alyssa, T.J., Joey, Michael, Brandon, and Skyler.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 2, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on thursday April 3, 2014 from 10-11am and a funeral service will take place at 11am followed by entombment in Holmdel Cemetery and Mausoleum. The family requests donation be made in lieu of flowers to Marie's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
