Obituary: Alan 'Big' Young, 64

Young lived in Manalapan for 30 years.

Alan "Big" Young, 64, of Manalapan, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Dover. Born in Newark, he lived in Edison before moving to Manalapan 30 years ago. Alan co-founded B&C Towing in Newark, a family owned business more than 40 years ago. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed by both family and friends.

He was predeceased by his two sisters, Geneveve and Carolyn. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rose Marie; his children, Alan and Caterina of Monroe, and Michele and Marlon Rivera of Jackson; his grandson, Santino; his siblings, Kevin, Barbara, Arlene and Debra; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Erik and Patricia Aleksandrowski.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, Sept. 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at , 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 7, at 10:30 AM, at the funeral home.
