Inhumane Shelter Killing of MANALAPAN Feral Cat Colonies

According to Alley Cat Allies "Feral cats are members of the domestic cat species, just like pet cats, but are not socialized to humans and are therefore not adoptable. Cats have been living outdoors near humans for more than 10,000 years. They typically live in groups called colonies and have strong social bonds with their colony members."  Manalapan has antiquated solutions.  They instead prefer to send  perfectly healthy cats to their death on a whim using taxpayer dollars, while maintaining the "murders" in secrecy.  Manalapan does not educate the public about cat colonies in their community and instead maintain stealth trapping then killing at the Helmetta Animal Shelter.

Here is what you can do to help.  Write to the Manalapan Health Department Director and urge him to instead implement a TNR Program in Manalapan. TNR is known as trap-neuter-return.  Tell him to support NO KILL shelters.  Tell him to insist on educating members of the community who voice concerns.  Tell him you do not want your tax dollars going to support a shelter that  intentionally traps healthy cats then kills them because they are feral and need to roam free. Tell him that feral cats deserve a home in "the Garden State's" watershed locations and other open, undeveloped lands. Feral cats are part of nature and deserve to live freely in managed colonies.

Tell him to insist on physical, documented proof  of animal nusiance and not just the hateful whims of some ornery animal hater.  Remember, the common denominator and defining character trait of a sociopath is the attraction to and killing of helpless animals.  Urge the Health Department and Manalapan Officials to stop the trapping and inhumane treatment/killing of colony cats.  Support Allie Cat Allies.  Thank you.  Please read for more information.  http://acaweb.alleycat.org/large_docs/deterbrochure-rev3.pdf
