5 Residential Burglaries in Manalapan Last Month

Manalapan Police say the incidence of home burglaries has been increasing

The Manalapan Police Department has reported numerous home burglaries throughout the month of October. Please be advised to keep your home doors and windows locked at all times.

 

  • Sometime between Oct. 3 and Oct. 19 approximately $10,000 in cash was stolen from the dresser of a 92-year-old Manalapan woman who resides on Old Queens Boulevard. Those suspected of stealing the money were allowed into the residence; the suspects in the case are currently under investigation.
  • Manalapan police responded to a Yates Road residence on Oct. 30 for a report of two men trespassing in the resident's basement. The 46-year-old male homeowner reportedly thwarted any attempted to theft. Police believe the suspects gained entry into the home through an unlocked basement sliding glass door. Nothing was reported stolen. Detective Leonard Maltese and the Monmouth County K9 unit assisted in the investigation.
  • Police responded to a Turnberry Drive home at 10 p.m. on Oct. 27 for the report of burglary and theft. Jewelry and money was removed from the home, according to the 53-year-old man who lives in the house. The intruder, or intruders, cut a screen window to gain entry through an unlocked window. The value of the stolen items has not yet been determined. 
  • On Oct. 24, a 53-year-old Manalapan woman told police that sometime between August and October someone had entered her home and removed approximately $14,400 worth of valuables from inside of her home.
  • Unknown suspects broke out a rear sliding glass door of an Iron Ore Road home during the day on Oct. 22, according to police. The perpetrators entered several rooms and closets but did not steal any items from the home. This case is under investigation.

What is going on here? Is this a rise in crime or typical for this area. We have lived here only 2 years ad we had several breakins in our development over the summer.
