Attempted Break-in and Vehicle Burglaries in Manalapan

There was an attempted break in and two vehicle burglaries last week, according to Manalapan police.

 

  • A 51-year-old Manalapan man responded to Police headquarters on July 22 to report that the rear window of his home had been tampered with. The frame of the screen had been bent down allowing it to be removed from the window, however, no entry was made into the home and there were no signs of forcible entry on the glass portion of the window.
  • On July 16, A Manalapan man was awoken at around 3:30 a.m. by loud barking from his dog. He went outside and saw two subjects running from his residence. The man just went back to bed. Then, at 2 p.m. he realized that his car had been burglarized. Several items were taken from the car, including a Garmin GPS system, according to police.
  • A car parked on Valley Road was burglarized between midnight and 5:30 a.m. on July 18. The car was entered through an unlocked door and $500 worth of items were taken - a Garmin GPS unit and a Nextel Cellular phone. According to police, the victim did not see or hearing anything during the theft.
