Car Stolen from Manalapan Driveway and Later Returned

Some valuables were discovered missing after the car was returned to the house.

A Honda Civic was taken from a Summit Avenue driveway during the afternoon of May 31, but it was later returned to the residence, are reporting.

The owner of the vehicle, a 58-year-old Manalapan man, told police that damage was caused to the exterior of his $18,500 car while it was taken and valuables were stolen out of the vehicle. An iPod Nano and an auxilliary cable, valued at $115 total, were removed from the car, according to police.

The suspect, or suspects, have not been arrested by police.  Police want to take this time to remind residents to lock their cars and homes and to secure all valuables in a safe place.
