Car Stolen from Manalapan Driveway and Returned Before Morning

Two other cars were burglarized during the same night, according to police.

The Manalapan Police Department has reported a motor vehicle theft and two car burglaries during the overnight hours between Sunday, March 10 and Monday, March 11.

  • A car was stolen from a Manalapan driveway on Hillside Road and then returned before the morning on March 11, according to police. The victim told police that he had left the key inside of the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado overnight. The investigation into the theft and criminal mischief is still ongoing. However, police learned that the victim also had an oustanding warrant for $120 out of East Brunswick. The man was arrested and released on bail.
  • Two cars parked in a Steward Lane driveway were burglarized during the overnight hours of March 10. The victim, a 43-year-old man, told police that someone had illegally entered his cars while they were parked in his driveway; both vehicles were left unlocked. The value of the items removed is $700, police said.
