Englishtown Man Arrested on Shoplifting and Robbery Charges

Freehold Borough police arrested an Englishtown resident for allegedly shoplifting from CVS Pharmacy and robbing an individual on two separate occasions.

Robert E. Brown, 47, of , was arrested this week by Freehold Borough Police for allegedly shoplifting from CVS Pharmacy on Tuesday, June 5 and reportedly committing a robbery against an individual within Freehold Borough on Saturday, June 2.

Brown, a resident of Station Street, concealed merchandise on his person at CVS Pharmacy on Tuesday in order to avoid paying the merchant, according to an arrest warrant issued by the Freehold Borough Police Department.

On Saturday, Brown allegedly robbed a man and placed him in fear of immediate bodily injury and taking money from him, the arrest warrant said. 

Brown is currently remanded at Monmouth County Correctional Institute in default of $50,000 bail. His initial appearance in front of Judge John G. Colannino  on June 12.
