Englishtown Man Charged With Possession, Resisting Arresting

Curtis L. Alexander, 21, of Englishtown, was arrested on Saturday, May 28.

Freehold Borough police responded to a call of an individual harassing someone on Mechanic Street on Saturday, May 28 at 2 a.m.

Ptl. Nicholas Iozzi responded to the scene where he encountered Curtis L. Alexander, 21, of Englishtown. Iozzi made repeated requests for Alexander to show him his hands after he allegedly refused to do so. Iozzi patted Alexander down and found a baggie of a substance he believed to be marijuana.

When Iozzi attempted to handcuff Alexander, he began to shout obscenities and turn his body away from the officer, according to police reports. Iozzi got the suspect under control and put him in the police car.

Alexander was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, resisting arrest, and obstructing the administration of law. Alexander’s bail was set at $11,000, and he was sent to Monmouth County Correction Institution.
