Expect Seat Belt Checkpoints in Englishtown

Annual "Click it or Ticket" enforcement campaign runs through June 1.

Englishtown Police are warning the public that they will be actively looking for unbelted motorists through June 1.

The department's annual initiative may include seat belt checkpoints and saturation patrols, according to a department news release Sunday. It is part of the nationwide Click It or Ticket 2014 campaign.

The goal of the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety is to increase the front seat belt usage rate in New Jersey to 92 percent from the current rate of 91 percent. Rear seat belt usage will also be enforced.
