Former Postal Employee Indicted on Heroin Possession Charge in Englishtown

Monica Mettrock was arrested on April 4 on drug and theft charges.

A Cliffwood Beach woman was indicted by the Monmouth County grand jury on charges of heroin possession in Englishtown Borough.  

Monica Mettrock, 47, was arrested by Englishtown police on April 4 on drug and theft charges, and was indicted on one count of heroin possession Wednesday, according to the indictment issued by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Mettrock, a United States Postal Service employee, was arrested after a two and half month federal investigation by the United States Postal Service. Police arrested Mettrock as she exited her mail truck to begin her route.

On April 4, Englishtown police charged Mettrock with possession of six wax folds of heroin, possession of hypodermic syringes, possession of a controlled dangerous substance while in a motor vehicle, and possession of stolen mail items. Mettrock allegedly had a variety of stolen items in her truck that were intended to be delivered, according to police.
