Jewelry Stolen in 2 Manalapan Home Burglaries

Two Manalapan homes were broken into and jewelry was stolen in early March

A Waterville home was burglarized on Saturday, March 2 and approximately $1,720 worth of jewelry and purses were stolen, the Manalapan Police Department has reported.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., Ptl. Philip Accatatta was dispatched to the home where he discovered a cut window screen in front of a first floor window, which is how the burglar gained entry. The burglar also left muddy boot prints within the home which led upstairs.

Two Coach purses and various jewelry, all of which totaled approximately $1,720, were stolen from the home.

The Monmouth County Sheriffs Office was contacted and Officer Aretino responded with a K-9 companion to track the suspect, but the track yielded no results.

The Manalapan Township Detective Bureau also responded to the home to further process the scene for evidence. This burglary and theft is currently under investigation by the Manalapan Police Department.

A Manalapan woman also reported a burglary to her St. Andrews Place home on March 3. The burglary took place at some point between March 1 and March 3.The burglar also entered the home through an unlocked first floor window, according to police. A jewelry box and several pieces of jewelry were stolen. Detective Charles Alaimo processed the scene for evidence.
