Lafayette Mills Road Home Burglarized While Residents Asleep

Items valued at about $3,000 stolen.

While residents were upstairs and asleep in their Lafayette Mills Road home, an unknown individual, or individuals, entered their home and stole various items, the Manalapan Police Department reported.

The home was illegally entered through an unlocked rear door near the living room at around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10. A 55 in. LED television and a Sony Playstation 3 were stolen, according to police. Both items were valued at approximately $3,000.

The person, or persons, tried to remove more objects from the home, but were unsuccessful.

The Monmouth County Sheriffs Office K-9 were called to the scene and they were able to track a trail to a residence in a nearby neighborhood.

Police said that this case is pending an investigation. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact the Manalapan Police Department at 732-446-4300.
