Man Strikes Curb, Runs Off Road While Allegedly on Drugs

A Spotswood man drove his car off of a Manalapan road; he was found to be under the influence and in possession of heroin and a narcotic, according to police.

A Spotswood man was arrested after striking a curb on Millhurst Road and running off the road for allegedly being under the influence, Manalapan Police have reported. Eamone Griffin, 31, was found to be in possession of heroin and Suboxone, according to police.

Police responded to the hit and run motor vehicle accident on Saturday, March 16 at 12:15 a.m.; the car was located on Montonk Road within the Battleground Estates Development. The vehicle was being driven with a flat tire and front end damage.

Griffin was found to be driving while intoxicated and arrested by police. A further investigation revealed that he was in possession of heroin and Suboxone, a narcotic medication used to treat opiate dependence.

Griffin was charged with driving while intoxicated, multiple motor vehicle summonses, two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released on his own recognizance pending court.
