Manalapan Car Fire Prompts Investigation

A car on Elisa Court burst into flames early Monday morning.

A Manalapan car caught fire during the early morning hours Monday have prompted an investigation lead by the The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said. 

The car reportedly ignited at 8 Elisa Court in the township. Manalapan police and fire departments responded to the blaze at 4:11 a.m. after multiple 911 calls were made. The car fire was quickly extinguished and there were no injuries, according to Gramiccioni. 

Several residents have mentioned hearing a loud explosion before the car caught fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
