Manalapan Man Allegedly Sells Pot to Undercover Cop

The resident has been indicted on possession and distribution charges.

Daniel Vanshtein, 20, of Livingston Ln. in , was indicted by the Monmouth County Grand Jury on Monday for selling marijuana to an undercover detective within the township.

Vanshtein allegedly was in possession of marijuana and sold the substance to an undercover detective from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office on July 28, 2011. The sale took place in Manalapan.

Vanshtein was indicted on one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, both are fourth degree crimes.

Regardless of the charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution and state law.
