Resident Indicted on Marijuana Possession and Distribution Charges

The Grand Jury of Monmouth County has indicted a Manalapan man on charges of possession and intent to distribute marijuana.

Sherif Michael, a 31-year-old Manalapan resident, has been indicted by the Grand Jury of Monmouth County for allegedly intending to sell marijuana.

Michael was arrested on December 9, 2011 in for possessing one ounce, or greater, of marijuana as well as adulterants and dilutants. He was indicted on one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, which is a third degree crime.

Regardless of the charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution and state law.
