Manalapan Police Nab Pickpocket at Wegmans

A New York City resident was arrested on Monday for stealing a wallet out of a customer's purse at Wegmans in Manalapan.

Charles Vancleave, a resident of New York City, was arrested by on Monday, Dec. 5 and charged with allegedly stealing a wallet from a shoppers purse at .

Vancleave, 53, was arrested on three separate charges of theft. According to a police report, he removed a black wallet containing several credit cards, identification, and $595 in cash from Ellen Keezer-Greenberg’s purse while she was shopping at Wegmans.

A number of wallets have been reported stolen from patrons of Wegmans over the past several months. The , , and the most recent .

Vancleave’s initial appearance in court is scheduled for Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. His bail is set at $60,000.
