Manalapan Police Arrest Hawaiian Fugitive

The man had an active warrant out of Kauai County, Hawaii.

Morganville resident Michael Garguilo, 61, was arrested by Manalapan Police for allegedly being a fugitive from justice out of Hawaii.

Police responded to a Manalapan home on Monday after a burglar alarm was activated. When they ran a routine check on Garguilo, a contractor working on the home, police found an active warrant out of Kauai County, Capt. Michael Fountain said.

The warrant stipulated that Garguilo would be extradited out of all states. Police contacted the Kauai County Police Department to verify the warrant and Kauai police requested Garguilo be lodged in jail. According to Capt. Fountain, the initial charge stemming out of Hawaii is a theft-related charge.
