Manalapan Police Locate Hit-and-Run Driver, Passenger Arrested on Drug Possession

A Honda that crashed into another car and fled the scene in Freehold was located in Manalapan.

Manalapan police located a car involved in a hit-and-run car accident that took place on East Freehold Road and Pond Road in Freehold Township on Wednesday, May 8.

The Honda that fled the scene of the accident was located by Manalapan police at the Gulf Gas Station parking lot on Route 9 North, according to police. The driver admitted to being involved in the crash and fleeing the scene. The passenger in the vehicle, Amanda Torres, 18, of Manalapan, was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Torres was arrested by Manalapan police for being in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a summons pending court.

The driver of the other vehicle was reportedly injured, but refused medical attention at the scene.
