Manalapan Woman Who Jumped to Death from Bridge Identified

Police identified the woman as Allice Dunn, according to an NJ.com report.

The Manalapan woman who jumped to her death off of the Victory Bridge in Sayreville on Saturday has been identified as Allice Dunn, according to an NJ.com report. Dunn, 55, pulled over to the side of the Route 9 at 11:40 a.m. and jumped off of the bridge into the Raritan River, according to the report. 

Dunn's body was discovered in the river east of the bridge and the was body was recovered with the use of a boat from the nearby Hess refinery site, the report said. The report also mentioned that a note was left inside of her car. 

Dunn was born in Tappahannock, Va., and she lived in Aberdeen before moving to Manalapan in 1994, according to her obituary. She was a substitute teacher for both Monmouth and Middlesex County School Systems, the obituary stated. 

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
