Nearly $6K in Jewelry Stolen from Manalapan Home

An unlocked car was also stolen as well as a Manalapan woman's checkbooks, police said.

The Manalapan Police Department have reported an assortment of thefts around the Township recently, including another home burglary involving the theft of jewelry.

  • Jewelry valued at $5,800 was stolen from a Saupe Drive home at some point between Jan. 28 and Feb. 23, the 53-year-old victim told police on March 10. The victim suspects a contractor that was working on them home during this time period stole the jewelry from his bedroom. This theft is still under investigation. 
  • A 49-year-old Manalapan woman told police that two of her checks were illegally cashed on Saturday, March 9. She said that someone had entered her home, removed two of her checkbooks, and cashed two checks utilizing her signature. $1,948 was removed from her checking account, according to police. This fraud is under investigation.
  • A 1995 green Toyota Avalon was stolen from a resident's driveway on Hillside Drive during the overnight hours between March 4 and 5. The victim, a 68-year-old woman, told police that the keys were left in the ashtray of the vehicle and that the doors were unlocked. The car is valued at approximately $2,000. This case is under investigation.
