Police Awards Held at Committee Meeting Tomorrow

Police officers will be recognized for their heroic efforts over the past year at the next Township Committee meeting on April 25.

The annual Police Awards Program, hosted by the and the Manalapan Township Committee, will take place at the next Manalapan Township Committee meeting on Wednesday, April 25 at 8 p.m. at .

The purpose of the Police Awards Programs is to recognize all of the hard work and dedication that the Manalapan Township Police officers do on a daily basis, and individual officers will be acknowledged for specific incidents that have occurred throughout the year.

Additionally, the Officer of the Year will be named and acknowledged by the Chief of Police. The Officer of the Year is chosen based on his or her "outstanding dedication and commitment to the fundamenatal goals and principals of police service," a press release issued by the Manalapan Township Police Department said.

Civilians will also be recognized for any help they have provided to the department, as well, the release said.
