UPDATE: Manalapan Man Charged With Assault, Theft of Wallet
A township man alleges that he was punched in the face and robbed of his wallet at a home on Regal Road.
A 21-year-old Manalapan man was assaulted and robbed of his wallet last Friday, according to police. The victim told police that a friend and an unknown person punched him in the face before stealing his wallet containing $400 in cash and credit cards.
The incident took place at a home on Regal Road at around 8:30 p.m., police said.
The victim described the suspect as a 19-year-old white man from Manalapan Township.
Joshua Miller, 20, of Manalapan, was arrested by police on Nov. 6 at his home. Miller, who is employed as a valet, was charged with robbery by force, theft of movable property, and simple assault. Miller has been remanded to Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default of $55,000, according to police.
