Fire extinguished at Reiss Manufacturing Inc.

The blaze began in a spray painting booth within the facility.

Firefighters from at least four departments responded to a fire at the Reiss Manufactoring Inc. in Manalapan Thursday afternoon, according to Manalapan Township Fire Company #1 Chief Ryan Perrone. The establishment, located at 75 Mt. Vernon Rd., specializes in silicone rubber and thermoplastic products.

According to Chief Perrone, the fire appears to have started shortly before 4:40 p.m. within a spray painting booth inside the facility. People were believed to have been present in the building when the fire began, he said, but no injuries were reported. 

The fire departments that responded to the scene include Englishtown, , Freehold Borough, and Manalapan Fire Company #1. With the fire extinguished, responders remained on the scene, awaiting the fire marshall. The cause of the blaze is undetermined, pending an investigation.
