Solar Swim Panels Stolen from Manalapan Roof

Approximately $6,000 worth of solar swim panels were removed from the roof of a Manalapan home when the homeowner was not home, according to police.

Solar Swim Panels, which utilize energy from the sun to heat a pool, were reportedly stolen from the roof of a Smithburg Road residence on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

The perpetrator, or perpetrators, gained access to the roof of the Manalapan home and removed the Solar Swim Panels, valued at about $6,000. Ptl. Ken Mikulik and Ptl. Matthew Meyler responded to the home in reference to the theft.

According to Manalapan police, the 45-year-old male homeowner was not at home at the time of the theft. A heating sensor from the backyard was also removed, police said.
