South River Woman Allegedly Breaks into Cars at Yorktowne Shopping Center

The woman was found with 2 GPS devices concealed in her purse.

On Tuesday, Oct. 18 at around 12:19 p.m. patrols from the were dispatched to the Yorktowne Shopping Center after being alerted to a woman entering vehicles in the parking lot.

Ashley Corrao, 18, of South River allegedly reached into a Punchlist Construction vehicle with the intent to remove a book of matches. 

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Corrao had 2 GPS devices concealed in her purse, according to the press release issued by the Manalapan Police Department. The release said that Corrao received the property from someone else and believed the property was probably stolen.

Corrao was arrested by Ptl. Michael Hoppock and Capt. Chris Marsala and charged with burglary and receiving stolen property. She was sent to Monmouth County Correctional Institute in Freehold in default of $11,000 bail.
