Trio Charged in $700 Best Buy Shoplifting, Manalapan Police Say

The three were later found and arrested in Freehold.

Manalapan police arrested two women and a man after almost $700 worth of items were shoplifted from the Best Buy located within the Township on Route 9 South. 

Police responded to Best Buy at around 5:50 p.m. on Dec. 30 and employees said that the shoplifters were seen leaving the area in a car driving towards Freehold. Freehold police located the vehicle minutes later in the parking lot of the Freehold Raceway Mall. Manalapan police arrived at the car and arrested the three individuals. 

Shankiek Armstrong, 21, and Patricia Irving, 21, both from Newark, were charged with shoplifting. Armstrong removed $462.95 worth of merchandise from the store and Iriving removed $227.98 worth of merchandise from the store.

Also arrested was Shanae Culver, 25, of Sayreville. Culver was charged with conspiracy to commit shoplifting and also had two outstanding criminal warrants totaling $490, according to police. 

The three were processed and released pending a court appearance.
