Two Alleged Heroin Arrests Made in Manalapan

Manalapan Police say they found heroin on two people in the township in early June.

The Manalapan Police Department charged two people this month with possession of heroin.

On June 9, Patrolman Philip Accatatta arrived at Applebee’s on southbound Route 9 after receiving a report of two intoxicated individuals.

According to police, Officer Accatatta allegedly found that Vincent Abate, 27, of Matawan, was in possession of 15 wax folds of a white powdery substance believed to be heroin. Abate was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was processed and released pending court.

On June 8, police responded to a Manalapan home for a reported dispute and allegedly found Toni Mauro, 29, of Manalapan, to be in possession of heroin, drug paraphernalia, and hypodermic needles, police said. 

Mauro was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was processed and released pending court.
