Two Car Burglaries Over the Weekend

Two cars were broken into and items were stolen over the weekend.

The Manalapan Police Department have reported two motor vehicle burglaries in the township, both of which took place during the overnight hours of Saturday, Sept. 22 into Sunday, Sept. 23.

A 40-year-old Manalapan man reported to police headquarters on Sunday to detail a burglary and theft of his car. The man told police that an unknown individual, or individuals, entered his car while it was parked in his driveway on Chatham Drive. The vehicle was unlocked at the time.

Police said that about items valued at approximately $443 were taken. The theft occurred sometime during the overnight hours  Saturday, Sept. 22 until Sunday, Sept. 23 at 9:30 a.m.

Also on Sunday, a 70-year-old Manalapan woman told police that her car was burglarized overnight between Sept. 22 and Sept. 23. Her car was parked on Holiday Road the time it was burglarized. About $20 worth of items were stolen.

Manalapan Police would like to remind residents to please keep their cars securely locked at all times.
