Two Locals Indicted for Forgery and Theft

A resident of Manalapan and Englishtown forged checks and cashed them in 2010

David Rivera, 29, of Manalapan and Norma Maldonado, 37, of Englishtown, were indicted by the Grand Jury of Monmouth County on Thursday, June 30. Rivera and Maldonado were indicted on three counts: forgery, uttering a forged instrument, and theft by deception.

According to the indictment, Rivera and Maldonado forged checks sometime between July and Oct. of 2010 within either Manalapan or Freehold.They presented the forged checks to the Bank of America. 

Money valued at over $500 was acquired by Rivera and Maldonado, which resulted in the theft by deception charge.
