Two MV Stops, Three Arrests for Alleged Marijuana Possession

Police made three arrests for marijuana possession in one night.

Three people were arrested in Manalapan for allegedly possessing marijuana on Jan. 28 in two separate motor vehicle stops, police said.

At 5:42 p.m. Ptl. Michael Hoppock of the stopped Max Goldberg, 24, for a motor vehicle violation on Union Hill Road. Hoppock soon discovered that Goldberg, a Manalapan resident, was in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and subsequently made the arrest.

At 7:35 p.m. that same evening Ptl. Bart Mattaliano stopped a car for a motor vehicle violation on Smithburg Road. The car was being driven by Tamara Caprio, 30, of Jamesburg had less than 50 grams of marijuana on her, according to police. Caprio was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle.

The passenger in the car, Carl Morris, 28, was also charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams. Morris, of Lakewood, also had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest from Toms River valued at $1,500.

Morris and Caprio were processed and released; Morris posted bail on his outstanding warrant.
