Valero Employee Reportedly Steals Cash from Register

The owner of the gas station reported the theft to Manalapan Police.

A Manalapan man was arrested by police for allegedly stealing money out of the Route 9 South Valero Gas Station cash register because he did not want to wait a few hours for his paycheck, according to the Manalapan Police Department.

The owner of the gas station told police that the employee, a 25-year-old Manalapan man, removed $100 from the cash register. The man told the owner, who was out of town, that he was going to remove the money and the owner advised him against it.

The gas station owner watched the man remove the money from the cash register through the store's video surveillance through his cell phone. The man proceeded to take the cash and leave the store.
