Woman Attempts to Rob House, Sees Homeowner and Flees

Attempted burglar flees home after coming into contact with owner on second floor.

Patrolman George Heitz responded to an attempted burglary on Darlington Drive today at approximately 12:30 p.m.

According to a report issued by the , an unknown white female in her late thirties or early forties entered a residence through an open garage door, walked upstairs to the second floor and fled once she came into contact with the homeowner.

The suspect was described to police as having dirty blonde hair, wearing white gloves, a black leather jacket and dark pants. The police have searched the surrounding areas of the residence with help from the Monmouth County Sheriff's Department and assistance from their K-9 unit.

Police said that no one was injured during the attempted burglary and nothing was stolen. The case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.
