Former Mayor Aaronson Chosen Vice-Chair Running Mate by LaRocca

The County Democratic Chairman candidate has chosen former Manalapan Mayor Rebecca Aaronson as his running mate.

Former Manalapan Mayor Rebecca Aaronson will join Marlboro Councilman Frank LaRocca on his campaign to become the Monmouth County Democratic Chairman.

LaRocca in February, following the announcement of current chairman Vic Scudiery's retirement. LaRocca is running against Long Branch Democrat Vin Gopal, who had an unsuccessful run for the state legislature last year.

Aaronson ran an unsuccessful campaign for Monmouth County Freeholder in 2005, losing the spot to current Freeholder Lillian Burry.

In the interim, Aaronson has volunteered Monmouth County’s battered women’s shelter and has been honored by the Latino American Association of Monmouth County for her public service. She’s a graduate of Brookdale Community College.

“Frank LaRocca is a proven winner with a plan to lead our party forward,” Aaronson said. “Frank has done an outstanding job in Marlboro by recruiting strong candidates that reflect all of the voices in our party. I’m sure, with Frank leading the county, women will have a voice and be welcomed.”
