Lori Cooke Named Englishtown Council President

The Englishtown Borough Mayor and Council reorganized and reappointed members on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

The Englishtown Borough Council assembled last night for their annual Reorganization Meeting at . Very few changes were made for 2012, apart from the selection of Councilwoman Lori Cooke as Council President.

Both Cooke and Councilwoman Cindy Robilotti, who held the Council President position for 2011, were nominated and they each seconded their own nominations. The council unanimously voted "yes" for Cooke; Councilwoman Jayne Carr was absent from the meeting.

No change comes to the composition of the council as Mayor Thomas Reynolds, Councilman Rudloph Rucker and Councilwoman Robilotti all ran unopposed in the election. Reynolds was sworn into office for another four year term and Rucker and Robilotti were sworn into office for another three year term.

Rucker nominated Councilman Gregory Wojyn for Police Commissioner and Councilwoman Maryann Krawiec nominated Robilotti, who has held the position for several years. Upon a vote, Wojyn was not voted in as Police Commissioner as Robilotti, Krawiec and even Wojyn himself voted "no".

The council then voted on the second nomination of Robilotti, and she was voted in as Police Commissioner. All Council members voted yes, except for Rucker who voted "no". Krawiec was later unanimously voted in as a member of the Police Commission .

Joseph Youssouf was reappointed as Borough Attorney for a one year term and Municipal Clerk Peter Gorbatuk was also sworn into office again.

The next Englishtown Mayor and Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
